In the ancient ruins of the city of Pompeii we discovered relics of classical Roman and Greek architecture that changed civilisation…soaring corinthian columns crowned by elaborate capitals and cornices, and the decorative linear Greek key pattern carved along old slabs of concrete and peeping out from peeling wall paintings in the ruins of Roman Villas.
So amazing to think some of the Savi Collection table and book case design details we love today originated 2000 years ago in the lost ancient Roman city of Pompeii.
